WIP and crafting with Layla

I got these kits from Big Lots a while back and just remembered I had them. Layla and I didn't want to follow the rules on the package. We added our own beads. Beautiful hairbow

This broach is for Ruby
There's Layla modeling all of the things we made.

I worked on this pillowcase quilt all day Thursday and just couldn't finish before the kids came over Friday and Saturday. I'll finish it next week.

The Shack

First of all I have wonderful news about my Aunt Louise. Her test show she is in remission. Our prayers have been answered. She was diagnosed with breast cancer (the second time) last November.

Just finished reading "The Shack". It had been passed around in our family and it was my turn. I highly recommend it.

More thrifting

I just love this rabbit. I got it at "Our Thrift Store" for $1.49. I know they just put it out, because someone else would have bought this. It has a lovely begonia now. I got this a while back at Goodwill for $1.99. It needed some cleaning and some of the crystals are missing, but I don't care. You put 4 votive candles and it and let the wind blow.
It feels like summer here today. Very humid.

Thrift finds

This gold fire king bowl is the same color and brand as these coffee cups. This is my second little pyrex dish. Got this cute embroidered pillowcase. Only thing is the pillowcase itself is not very good quality.
This sheet will make an adorable dress for the girls.

Sewing marathon and Ruby's 4th birthday

I did get the dresses finished for Maureen. They both had to be altered, so it was like making 4 dresses. But I did it.

Ruby wanted this gown for her birthday and I finished it in time. I used McCalls 5969 and a sheet from here. Of course I had to make one for Layla from this sheet. I also made the sleeping masks for both.
Happy Birthday little girl. She wore the gown all day and night.

What I've been working on

My beautiful flowers from my children on Mother's day. We all had a cookout at my house for my Mom. Great day. Monday I started on 1 of 2 dresses I have to make by Friday for Maureen. One is finished except for hemming and working on the other one now. Ruby's birthday is Friday and want to make a nightgown and skirt (nothing like waiting till the last minute). Wish me luck.

Layla lost a front tooth

I know it looks like she lost 2 teeth, but only one. Her front teeth have a huge space.

The flooding was horrible over the weekend. I do live on a hill but all roads surrounding me were closed for a few days. Two of the grandkids got stranded here with me (lucky I guess). They got along pretty well and played and watched movies.
I've got to get back to sewing. It's been a while. Maybe after I mow the yard today.
